The Paris Bourse was up in early trade on Thursday and back above 3,500 points after a sharp rise in New York, buoyed, like Europe, by bank and by the optimistic forecasts on State Street the quarterly earnings season.

The European markets have embraced the methodology of stress testing of banks in Europe and the upward revision of growth forecasts the International Monetary Fund.

Around 9:05, the CAC 40 rose 0.89% to 3514.50 points.

Societe Generale (2.40%), BNP Paribas (2.34%) and Credit Agricole (2.17%) are leading gains on the CAC 40 and are the main contributors to the increase in the index.

London and Frankfurt gained 1.05% 0.51%.The European indices, EuroStoxx 50 Eurofirst 300 rose 0.68% and 0.77%.

The euro gained ground and is trading around 1.2642 dollars against 1.2630 yesterday.
