U.S. consumer confidence plunged in June after three consecutive months of increases, due to concerns related to the job market, according to the index of employers' organization the Conference Board released Tuesday.
This index thus amounted to 52.9 in June against 62.7 (revised from 63.3) in May
Analysts polled by Reuters expected at 62.8.
The expectations index stood at 71.2, against 84.6 a month earlier.
The evaluation index of the prevailing market conditions fell to 25.5, against 29.8 in May
The proportion of those who find a job is hard to get rose to 44.8%, down from 43.9% to think that a month earlier, while that of people thinking it is easy gain employment fell 4.3% against 4.6% in May
